We are offering 20 Scholarships to those families that currently qualify for free lunch or partial lunch payments in their school district. Parents and players, please take into consideration in your ability to commit to attending practices and games. If your child will be unable to participate in the majority of practices and / or games then this league may not be right for them. We recognize and support students participating in multiple sports / activities. We ask that during the basketball season that players commit to basketball in fairness to their teammates, i.e. do not skip basketball practice to attend practice for a out of season sports or in general.
Pre-League Training / Skills Assessment
Throughout the year, Developmental training sessions are held Fridays 4-7PM for different genders and age ranges. These sessions are a relaxed training session teaching fundemental skills, keeping the kids active at times when other programs are in intermission. We also use these sessions as an opportunity to assess new comers and introduce them to our eco system. Player assessments will be kept private. If you are registered to an upcoming training league, you can attend any Friday session free of charge during the duration of the league.
What kind of skills will they be learning at the Developmental training sessions?
- Drills and thought patterns to ensure a calm composure under high intensity play
- Drills that point out the essentials of organized basketball (picks, zone defense, etc)
- Drills and thought exercises on how to learn, measure and build skill in anything you do

By the middle this week, a "Loose schedule" and "Loose rosters" will be shared. "Loose" meaning at any point during this week, the roster or schedule may change due to unresolved or additional schedule conflicts. As we reach the end of the week the frequency at which the schedule and roster changes lessens, finally being locked on the monday following (Mon, Jul 14th).
Schedule is locked. First practice is on Mon, Jul 14th and season ends Sun, Aug 17th with playoffs and finals
When parents register, they are required to purchase two ithacabball shirts of different colors. It is required to bring both shirts when participating in any ithacabball program. Depending on how many children show up game day and the skill level of those children can determine what 1 of two teams they end up hence the two shirts. 2 coaches are present and each will be assigned to a team. 1 ref will also be present to ensure the safty of the children and promote respectable conduct.
Familiarizing yourself with Teamsnap
Also during this week, parents will be invited to create accounts and join our team management software, Teamsnap. Teamsnap allows for parents to chat amongst each other (set up car pooling, etc), show whether or not they plan on going to a game and most important of all, being able to see their child's schedule. Teamsnap is the #1 Team management app for youth leagues.
